This Christmas, we hope to bless local families with two gifts that have a far reaching impact – the gift of dignity and the gift of empowerment. Our Outreach Team is making plans to invite families in need to participate in a store-like Christmas shopping experience this December where parents will have the opportunity to personally choose and purchase gifts at significantly reduced prices for their children.
Please join us in giving the gifts of dignity and empowerment this Christmas season by donating to our Christmas in July campaign now. These donations will allow our expert bargain shopping team to begin working throughout the fall to find the best deals on gifts to stock our Christmas Store in December. Donations can be made at the Christmas Store table in the lobby before or after services during the month of July or you can put your donations in the offering basket with Christmas Store in the memo line.
Interested in joining The Christmas Store Team? The following three teams are looking for volunteers to help throughout the fall to get The Christmas Store ready for families.
Family Relations Team - Do you feel a passion for working directly with the Christmas Store guests? This team will be the first point of contact for the families we are helping and will be a primary touch point for them along the journey. We need individuals who are comfortable working one on one with others, have a mission-oriented spirit, and are willing to say YES to this team!
Inventory Team - We know some of you are fabulous BARGAIN shoppers – and by bargain, we mean practically free! Are you a whiz at coupons, sales, or maybe you don’t have any qualms about asking businesses for donations like gift cards and such? This Inventory Team will make sure we have the best possible gifts from which shoppers can choose.
Shopkeepers Team - Do you enjoy making things ready for events? Our Shopkeepers Team needs YOUR talents! We have multiple opportunities for you to help with sorting, organizing, and pricing the store inventory, setting up so that when the doors open our families receive a warm, inviting, welcoming environment, and tearing down after the event. There will be opportunities for planning, heavy lifting, and generally making sure that every detail is just right!
There will be many more opportunities to serve the day of The Christmas Store - December 9, 2017. Check back in October to learn more about those.
