If you are unemployed, under-employed or mis-employed, our Still Waters volunteer professional Career Guides can help with career assessment, resume preparation, job search advice, networking, search skill training, and ongoing support.

All clients of the Career Connection are encouraged to attend networking meetings as are others in the community who need career help. Regular meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm at Still Waters United Methodist Church. Meetings are important as a means for job seekers to connect with each other and help each other in their career searches. Personal help is available from professional Career Guides.

All persons are welcome regardless of affiliation. All services are provided by volunteers free of charge to church members and members of the community. Our Career Guides are also available to answer general questions related to human resources and employment laws.

  • All those who are currently using the services of the Career Connection Ministry or who would like information about the services.
  • Church or community members who are unemployed and who would like help finding a job.
  • Anyone who is mis-employed or under-employed and looking for help finding a new career opportunity

On October 5th, Cindy Schacht shared a helpful and informative presentation on working with employment agencies. Attendees learned about the opportunities in contract and permanent employment. In today’s “Gig Economy” where more and more people are working on short-term jobs, this is an important consideration for anyone planning their career. Cindy works in our community and knows the marketplace for available jobs. She has helped many clients find good job opportunities.
