This Christmas, we hope to bless local families with two gifts that have a far reaching impact – the gift of dignity and the gift of empowerment. Our Outreach Team is making plans to invite families in need to participate in a store-like Christmas shopping experience this December where parents will have the opportunity to personally choose and purchase gifts at significantly reduced prices for their children.
Please join us in giving the gifts of dignity and empowerment this Christmas season by donating to our Christmas in July campaign during July. These donations will allow our expert bargain shopping team to begin working throughout the fall to find the best deals on gifts to stock our Christmas Store in December. Donations can be made at the Christmas Store table in the lobby before or after services during the month of July or you can put your donations in the offering basket with Christmas Store in the memo line.
Inventory Team - We know some of you are fabulous BARGAIN shoppers – and by bargain, we mean practically free! Are you a whiz at coupons, sales, or maybe you don’t have any qualms about asking businesses for donations? This Inventory Team will make sure we have the best possible gifts from which shoppers can choose.
Family Relations Team - Do you feel a passion for working directly with the Christmas Store guests? This team will be the first point of contact for the families we are helping and will be a primary touch point for them along the journey. We need individuals who are comfortable working one on one with others and have a mission-oriented spirit.
Shopkeepers Team - Do you enjoy making things ready for events? We have multiple opportunities for you to help with transporting toys to the school, organizing, putting bikes together, and decorating so that when the doors open our families receive a warm and welcoming environment.
Prayer Team - Prayer is an essential part of our Christmas Store! This team prays throughout the event for all families and volunteers. They are also available to pray with families if needed.
Check In Team – You will check in our families and see that they get the day started with a friendly face and warm welcome.
Personal Shopper Team – Want to get to know the families we are helping? You will be paired with a family to help them navigate through the Christmas Store experience. If you are new to this team, please plan to attend an informational meeting either Sunday, December 2 at 10:00 am or Friday, December 7 at 7:00 pm
Hospitality Team – We will be serving each family a nutritious breakfast to fill them up before the shopping begins! We would love volunteers to help us prepare food and serve our guests.
Photography Team – An opportunity for a family photo is offered to all families. If you have the gift of photography or can be an extra pair of hands to help our photographer, we need you.
Children’s Team – Do you like to have FUN? We have a great day planned for the kiddos! While the parents are shopping, you get the chance to hang out and have some fun getting to know the kids. Individuals who work in this area must be background checked. If you haven't already done so, contact the church office for the background check forms.
Stock Team – Extra hands are helpful throughout the store to assist the personal shoppers and families, answer any questions, and rearrange the toys to keep the tables looking full once items are purchased.
Cashier Team – Items in the store are purchased at significantly reduced prices. Our cashier team is responsible for that financial transaction. You must be comfortable handling money for this team.
Wrapping Team – Do you LOVE to wrap gifts? We will have a wrapping room where we can use your talents.
Cleanup Crew – After all the fun, we need to clean up our mess. Help us box up leftover toys, take down decorations, and haul the boxes back to the Parsonage.
