Loving our neighbors in our neighborhoods involves reaching out to those around us, forming relationships and finding ways to help that build dignity and empowerment.
Thank you for your extravagant generosity during our Christmas in July campaign. We raised over $5000 and will be able to provide Christmas for at least 50 children this year. See below for ways you can get involved!
This Christmas, we hope to bless local families with two gifts that have a far reaching impact – the gift of dignity and the gift of empowerment. Our Outreach Team is making plans to invite families in need to participate in a store-like Christmas shopping experience this December where parents will have the opportunity to personally choose and purchase gifts at significantly reduced prices for their children.
Interested in joining The Christmas Store Team? The following three teams are looking for volunteers to help throughout the fall to get The Christmas Store ready for families.
Family Relations Team - Do you feel a passion for working directly with the Christmas Store guests? This team will be the first point of contact for the families we are helping and will be a primary touch point for them along the journey. We need individuals who are comfortable working one on one with others, have a mission-oriented spirit, and are willing to say YES to this team!
Inventory Team - We know some of you are fabulous BARGAIN shoppers – and by bargain, we mean practically free! Are you a whiz at coupons, sales, or maybe you don’t have any qualms about asking businesses for donations like gift cards and such? This Inventory Team will make sure we have the best possible gifts from which shoppers can choose.
Shopkeepers Team - Do you enjoy making things ready for events? Our Shopkeepers Team needs YOUR talents! We have multiple opportunities for you to help with sorting, organizing, and pricing the store inventory, setting up so that when the doors open our families receive a warm, inviting, welcoming environment, and tearing down after the event. There will be opportunities for planning, heavy lifting, and generally making sure that every detail is just right!
Your talents are needed on the day of the Christmas Store in these areas:
Prayer Team - Prayer is an essential part of our Christmas Store! This team prays throughout the event for all families and people serving. They are also available to pray with families if needed.
Check In Team – You will check in our families and see that they get the day started with a friendly face and warm welcome!
Personal Shopper Team – Want to get to know the families we are helping? You will be paired with a family to help them navigate through the Christmas Store experience.
Hospitality Team – We will be serving each family a nutritious breakfast to fill them up before the shopping begins! We would love volunteers to help us serve our guests.
Photography Team – An opportunity for a family photo is offered to all families. If you have the gift of photography or can be an extra pair of hands to help our photographer, we need you.
Children’s Team – Do you love working with kids? We have a great day planned for the kiddos! Individuals who work in this room must be background checked.
Restock Team – As gifts are purchased, more will need to take their place. Join this team to keep our tables full of gifts for families to choose from.
Cashier Team – Items in the store are purchased at significantly reduced prices. Our cashier team is responsible for that financial transaction. You must be comfortable handling money for this team.
Wrapping Team – Do you LOVE to wrap gifts? We will have a wrapping room where we can use your talents.
