During these challenging times we will be experiencing changes to our days and our lives. Our staff is actively considering how we are to be the church in such a time as this. We are looking at how we will be the Body of Christ in a new way. Please continue to watch for church emails and check the website for information about how we will function as a church, provide spiritual support, provide for online giving, and more.
We have been made aware of a need at Jackson Elementary School for school supplies. If you’d like to contribute, it would be greatly appreciated! Folks at the schools are under tremendous pressure and stress, and to have any opportunity to support them during this time is a gift. Please feel free to bring in any/all of the following items:
- Binders (1 inch size)
- Expo markers (solid colors, broad tip)
- Water bottles (Since drinking fountains will be blocked off, kids will need water bottles)
- Pencils (regular #2 pencils)
- Composition Notebooks
Place your items in bins located inside the first set of doors as you enter Still Waters Church on Monday through Thursday, between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. or on Sunday, if you come for worship at that time.
GOT MILK? We need your empty milk jugs!
Bring in your used and rinsed plastic 1/2 gallon milk jugs! Still Waters Youth will be recycling these containers into useful items for Jackson Elementary School. The school has provided patterns for our Youth to follow. These milk jugs will be transformed into water bottle holders that will hook onto students’ desks, so their water bottles won’t get knocked down.
Place your clean, empty milk jugs in bins located inside the first set of doors as you enter Still Waters Church on Monday through Thursday, between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. or on Sunday, if you come for worship at that time.
Please join us as we cover our schools (students and staff, parents and administrators) in prayer.
Lately, COVID-19 has been on all of our minds. As the school year approaches, schools must decide whether to re-open virtually, in-person, or use hybrid options. Families are dealing with uncertainty and hard choices. During this time, emotions, fears, and frustrations are running high.
We’d like to challenge our Still Waters family to PRAYER WALK our neighborhood school(s). Prayer walking is simply walking near the school and through the surrounding neighborhood while praying for students and staff, parents and administrators. A virtual walk from your home is good, too! Pray in your own words, or click on the link below to print a prayer.

We will begin a 6-week Monday Night Zoom Study on September 14. We will reading the book, 12 Christian Beliefs That Can Drive You Crazy - Relief from False Assumptions by Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend. We will explore 12 commonly accepted beliefs that contain false assumptions and look at what the Bible says as we gain emotional freedom. For example: Yes, we love our neighbor, but it IS ok to have your own needs met. Please sign up online or email Pastor Lori, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Come help build a house in West Bend for a family working hard to have their own home. No building skills necessary! Ready to dig deep into the Bible? Disciple Fast Track, an adaptation of the original, best-selling Disciple Bible Study, provides a viable option for busy people seeking comprehensive engagement over time with the entire biblical text. Fast Track groups meet for a total of 24 weeks, devoting 12 weeks each to the Old Testament and the New Testament. Participants read a manageable 3-5 chapters of the Bible daily in preparation for the weekly meetings, which last approximately 75 minutes. Rev. Hap Itson, retired pastor here at Still Waters, will facilitate this study via Zoom.
Wednesday, October 14th
Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin is the leading hunger-relief organization in the state, operating food banks in Milwaukee and the Fox Valley. Still Waters Church has been given a wonderful opportunity to partner with Feeding America to help feed Washington County.
Before COVID-19, 10,000 pounds of food was being distributed in Washington County weekly. This is no longer happening. To help fill the void, Still Waters Church has offered to be a mobile pantry. Feeding America will deliver pallets of perishable foods. Our volunteers will package the food into bags and place packages into vehicles as they pass through our parking lot...drive-thru style!
Volunteer opportunities are available!
As people continue to dream up new ways that we can do church, Robin Olson would like to have a twice monthly “Watch Party” at her house! This would be an opportunity for a total of no more than 8 people to gather on the first and third Sundays of the month, at Robin’s home in Jackson, from 3:00 - 4:30 p.m., beginning Sunday, October 18. At 3:00, they would watch the worship service from that morning, and then from 3:45- 4:30, they would connect with one another, discuss the message from worship, and enjoy each other! What a wonderful opportunity for those not ready to come to in-person worship at church, but would maybe like a little more connection with people. Contact Robin if you have questions.
Who Can You Help by Donating Blood?
Every day, blood donors help patients of all ages: accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, and those battling cancer. In fact, every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood.
On Tuesday November 10th the American Red Cross will be at Still Waters Church. To schedule an appointment to donate, visit redcrossblood.org and search: stillwaters or call 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
We celebrate Holy Communion on the first Sunday of each month. While we are unable to attend worship services in person, we will celebrate Holy Communion together, but separately in our homes. If you would like to join us, please plan to have the elements at your house, including any kind of bread or cracker, and grape or other juice. During our online worship, our Pastor will bless the elements in your home from our church, and we will partake from wherever we are. We consider this a very sacred act that we can do knowing that the power of God’s spirit is not confined to a church building.
Just a reminder - keep buying Scrip cards!
