This year The Christmas Store will be held on Saturday, December 12th! There are many areas to choose from as we prepare and host the store this year! Due to Covid, this year’s store will be a parent-only experience and the store will be open through the afternoon. Please check all the different opportunities. Join the one that’s right for you! This team will be responsible for purchasing gifts for stocking the store using the money that was donated during our Christmas in July campaign. You will receive Scrip gift cards to stores of your choosing. You will need to keep track of your purchased items on a spreadsheet and turn in all receipts to the team leader.
We need lots of helpers to load a trailer at the storage site with all the toys and supplies. We will then drive over to Still Waters and unload it. Date is Sunday Dec 6th at 10am.
This team will help decorate to create a welcoming and festive environment. This will take place during the week before the event. Dates/Times to follow.
Hopefully we will have bikes donated and they will need to be assembled. Please bring your tools. Date and time to be determined.
Prayer is an essential part of our Christmas Store! This team prays throughout the event for all families and people serving. They are also available to pray with families if requested.
You will check in our families and see that they get the day started with a friendly face and a warm welcome!
CART PATROL/TRANSPORT TEAM
You will be stationed at the cashier table. After the guest checks out, you will be in charge of the shopping cart as our guests proceed to the wrapping area. This important step will help ensure we have no mix-ups with gifts. Then you will assist the family with loading their car. You will be going outside so please dress accordingly.
PERSONAL SHOPPER/ RELATIONSHIP BUILDER TEAM
You will be the paired with a family that has signed up to attend the store. You will be the main contact person for that family. You will be tasked with calling the family after they RSVP to explain the store and answer any questions they have. You are encouraged to call them periodically. You will also need to call the family with their assigned time. Please plan to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your family’s assigned time on Saturday, December 12 to familiarize yourself with the store setup.
If you have the gift of photography or videography we need you! This team will take photos and video during the event and make a short presentation that will be shown during the service the next day. You will need to supply your own equipment.
Some of our guests may need help getting their gifts home, especially bikes. You will be on call to deliver gifts if needed.
Items in the store are purchased at significantly reduced prices. Our cashier team is responsible for that financial transaction. You must be comfortable handling money for this team. You will also handle the batteries and gift cards. Taking inventory of these items after the event will be necessary.
Do you LOVE to wrap gifts? We will have a wrapping room where we can use your talents.
After all the fun, we need to clean up our mess. Help us box up leftover toys, take down tables, move chairs and put the church back together. Please arrive at 4:30pm on Saturday Dec. 12th. Time may be adjusted based on how many families attend.
TOY HAULER AFTER THE EVENT
We need your help loading the trailer and taking our supplies back to the storage location. Please arrive at Still Waters on Saturday December 12th at 4:45pm. Time may be adjusted based on how many families attend.
