Most of our families are... well... not perfect. It may be surprising to know that God's family, including Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Rebekah, Jacob and Esau, was far from perfect. But our families, like God's family, can be redeemed, even in our messes! We'll talk about navigating the messiness of family, in both God's church and our personal lives. there is a place for every one of us at God's table.
This weekend in worship, we will be considering “Finding a Way Forward.” Let us consider not just what to do, but other essential aspects of moving toward God’s dream, in our families, and in our church family.
The story of Joseph in the Old Testament is a great example of how, in the midst of all our family and personal imperfections, God brings new hope. We are reminded, in Genesis 50:20 Joseph's words to his brothers: “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.”
