New to Still Waters?

Welcome! Still Waters is a caring United Methodist Community of faith that seeks to minister to the whole you: body, mind and spirit. We are casual, contemporary and committed to helping you experience God in exciting new ways in your life. Still Waters is uniquely defined by our use of multimedia, set in a relaxing atmosphere. We are united in worship through drama, video, upbeat music, prayer, and the healing power of laughter.  Our mission is to Find the Lost, Release the Captive and Develop Disciples of Jesus.

We are a church without visitors. You may wonder how that can be. How can a church grow the way we have without visitors? In most churches, when new people walk through the door they are introduced as "visitors." This label "visitor" says to all that you are not one of us. You are an outsider who, for what ever the reason may be, is here on this day. At Still Waters, when you have come through the door, you are one of us. You are a part of the worshiping body - the body of Christ. You join with us in celebration through the word, sacrament, and fellowship.

Still Waters is a church of the dialogue. We acknowledge that no two persons have traveled the exact same journey in faith, and that like fingerprints, no two "soul-prints" are identical. We embrace genuine dialogue as we grow in our spirtuality and understanding of the living God. We strive to reconnect persons to God that they may truly experience all that life has to offer.

We are a non-traditional community of faith. Our weekly worship celebrations are driven by guitar and drum led music, multi-media presentations and drama. There is no pulpit or Reverend in a robe. Our sermons are practical and applicable to our lives. Many times we have heard persons say, "this church speaks my language."

I invite you join with us in worship as we gather on Saturdays at 5:00pm and Sunday mornings at 9:00 & 10:30 am. A staffed nursery is available during services for infants to 3 years old.  Sunday School for 3 years old through 6th grade meets during all services. Communion is offered the first weekend of every month.

In the love of Christ,

Pastor Matt Hadley

Saturday Evening Services start at 5:00pm. Sunday services are at 9:00am and 10:30am.  We have a fellowship time that occurs between these 2 services with coffee and snacks.

Where can I park?  Directions
We have on-site parking.  You can enter the building through the front doors. Our sanctuary is to the left.

What happens when I arrive?
You will be greeted by a member of the congregation at the front entrance. An usher will hand you a bulletin and direct you to our sanctuary.  If you would like to tour the facility, please ask a greeter to introduce you to a staff member.

Do you have childcare?
We have an adult - staffed nursery that provides care for children 0 - 3 years old.  Please ask a greeter or usher to take you there.  When you arrive in the nursery, you will be asked to sign in your child and you will be given a pager so that we can contact you if you are needed.

Do you have Sunday School?
We have Sunday School (sometimes called Tidepool) for ages 3 years to 6th grade.  Sunday School is held during all of our services. On Sundays the children are divided into classrooms by age.  On Saturdays the children meet as a large group and go back to class after the Children's Message.  On Sundays, children should be taken back to Sunday School upon arrival. Towards the end of service the teachers will bring the children in to worship for a message and they will be dismissed to their parents at the end of the service.  When you first arrive, please ask a greeter or usher to show you and your children where the Sunday School is located.

Do you have disabled facilities?
Our building is handicap accessible and doesn't have any stairs.  You may park in the handicap spaces near the front door.  We do have a wheelchair available for your use.

Where do I sit?
There are no seating plans so you may sit wherever you feel most comfortable.  We have chairs (not pews) that are padded.

Is there a dress code?
Dress comfortably.  Don't worry about what you wear.  We are a casual, contemporary congregation.

What happens during the service?
During the service you will be able to connect to God through Contemporary worship music provided by our praise band, prayer and meaningful messages.

What about communion?
We offer communion on the first weekend of the month and during special worship services.  You need not be a member of Still Waters to take Communion, simply acknowledge that you are a child of God and you are welcome at the Lord's Table.
