Serving others

Still Waters Church exists to FIND the Lost, RELEASE the Captive, and DEVELOP Disciples of Jesus. Our mission is important to us and inspires us to serve others. Here are some of the ways we are reaching out to the community in service.

  • Serve night (preparing for Vacation Bible School!)

    JUNE 5  | 6:00 - 8:00 pM

On Sunday, June 5, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., we will have a ‘serve night’!  If you’d like to be involved in Vacation Bible School this year, you can begin early.  On this evening we will make significant preparations for Vacation Bible School (VBS)!  We’ll make props, prepare skits (some of you are very gifted in this area!), watching a mission video, becoming familiar with music, and in general, we will just be getting excited to be a VBS volunteer!  Sign up online or on your connection card to be a part of ‘Serve Night’ on June 5.

During the Blood Drives, the  American Red Cross will be at Still Waters Church. To schedule an appointment to donate, visit redcrossblood.org and search: stillwaters or call 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767).

Still Waters Partners with Family Promise, to help empower homeless families to come up out of poverty.  Several times during the year, we take a week and serve.  Since the pandemic began, the way that we serve is to make dinners each night when it’s “our week.”  Our week to partner with Family Promise is coming up!  The week of September 11, we will have the opportunity to make dinners for the homeless families that are in the program.  If you have any questions please email Kelly Passineau or Vicki Passineau.

  • safe families

Safe Families for Children is a movement fueled by compassion and faith to keep children safe and families intact as families go through crisis. Through Host Families, Family Friends, and Family Coaches, they temporarily host children and provide a network of support while parents get back on their feet. It is an honor to surround Moms and Dads with a community of families who believe in them and to be there for them when families need us most.

Still Waters has become a partner church, meaning we would support Safe Families as a ministry of our church. Essentially, partner church volunteers become like an extended family for moms and dads in crisis, hosting kids and providing support to families including mentoring and friendship.

If you would like more information about how you can help please email Gerri Seiser.

To learn more visit the National Safe Families for Children Website or the Milwaukee Safe Families Chapter.
