In the community

A Helping Hand - In the Old and New Testament, we are taught to care for the least of the community: the widow, the orphan, the poor, the sick. We have a handful of ways and partners out in the community where hands and hearts are needed to help provide for those that need it most.

  • Shoe Drive - Soles4Souls!

Still Waters Kids will be doing a shoe drive for the month of July. We are partnering with Soles4Souls with a goal of collecting 1,000 shoes by the end of VBS. Last day to bring shoes will be August 4th. ALL shoes can be donated (used, sandals, tennis shoes, boots, etc...).  At Soles4Souls unwanted shoes are turned into opportunities, by keeping them from going to waste and putting them to good use – providing relief, creating jobs and empowering people to break the cycle of poverty.

Who Can You Help by Donating Blood?

Every day, blood donors help patients of all ages: accident and burn victims, heart  surgery and organ transplant patients, and those battling cancer. In fact, every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood.

During the Blood Drives, the  American Red Cross will be at Still Waters Church. To schedule an appointment to donate, visit and search: stillwaters or call 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767).

Still Waters Partners with Family Promise, to help empower homeless families to come up out of poverty.  Several times during the year, we take a week and serve.  Since the pandemic began, the way that we serve is to make dinners each night when it’s “our week.”  Our week to partner with Family Promise is coming up!  The week of September 11, we will have the opportunity to make dinners for the homeless families that are in the program.  If you have any questions please email Kelly Passineau or Vicki Passineau.

  • safe families

Safe Families for Children is a movement fueled by compassion and faith to keep children safe and families intact as families go through crisis. Through Host Families, Family Friends, and Family Coaches, they temporarily host children and provide a network of support while parents get back on their feet. It is an honor to surround Moms and Dads with a community of families who believe in them and to be there for them when families need us most.

Still Waters has become a partner church, meaning we would support Safe Families as a ministry of our church. Essentially, partner church volunteers become like an extended family for moms and dads in crisis, hosting kids and providing support to families including mentoring and friendship.

If you would like more information about how you can help please email Gerri Seiser.

To learn more visit the National Safe Families for Children Website or the Milwaukee Safe Families Chapter.
