Our mission in Family Ministry is to partner with parents and families to guide children and youth into a life-long faith. One way we do that is through regular faith formation activities for our children! Tidepool is the children's ministry program at Still Waters. We offer activities and teaching for pre-kindergarten through grade five while parents and others are participating in regular church services in the sanctuary on Sunday at 9:00 am. Children should be taken to classrooms in the education wing before the worship service begins. The children will be brought into worship towards the end of the service for Children's Message and then dismissed to their parents.
Tidepool is our Children's Ministry program offered to children 3 years old through 5th grade and meets on Sundays at 9:00 am in the summer! Digging Into The Life of Jesus - New Tidepool curriculum starting this summer!
This week in Tidepool:
- 4/22-23 Jesus Heals Blind Men
A “boot camp” is where you go to learn the skills you need to prepare for a job. Our third grade students take an important step on the road to becoming a disciple by receiving their first Bible as a gift from the church. The goal of Bible Boot Camp is to help students become comfortable in turning to the Bible for guidance. In Bible Boot Camp, students learn to use the table of contents and scripture references as guides to some of the wonderful stories and wisdom contained in both the Old and New Testaments. As we progress through the Bible, students learn key verses that help them grow in their understanding of what God expects from them and what God will do for them.
3rd Grade Bible Presentation: September 18 at 9:00 am service
Today in Bible Bootcamp:
- 04/02/17 Passover Becomes the Last Supper
Somewhere between leaving childhood behind and treading wide-eyed into the teenage years lurk a thousand bewildering questions. Where did God come from? How come I'm not perfect? Why doesn't everyone go to Heaven? Preteens' toughest questions - the Bible's smartest answers.
This Week: Who's the Boss
Join the Children's Choir and make music with us! - Music doesn't have to by your "forte" for it to be fun! Children Pre-K through 5th grade are welcome to join the choir for an opportunity to learn different types of music, while making new friends, ministering to others and having fun. The Still Waters' Children's Choir rehearses between Sunday worship services, from 10:00 am to 10:25 am every Sunday in the Tidepool area. The choir is led by Emily Dalton Niles with assistance from John Haas and Steve Twining. Please contact Emily for more information.
The children's choir is currently on break for the summer - rehearsals will start up again in the Fall.
We are very excited about our Children's Christmas program presented each December during the holiday season. It is a great opportunity to support our Tidepool ministry and celebrate the season! Interested in having your child participate? Like to help? Contact Jessica!
