Our Mission

Still Waters Church exists to

FIND the Lost,

RELEASE the Captive,

and DEVELOP Disciples of Jesus.

Find the Lost

What does it mean to feel lost? There are times in our lives when we feel like we are walking in the dark. We may have no idea where we are going. We do not see the road ahead and cannot know for certain where it will end. Still Waters is a caring community of faith that seeks to minister to the whole you: body, mind and spirit. We walk together to find the right road so that no one needs to face life's perils alone.

God didn't send Jesus to praise the perfect. He didn't place him on the cross for those who had it all together. He gave his Son so that those of us who were lost could return home.

"For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost." --Luke 19:10

Release the Captive

What holds us captive?  Our hearts break for people who wrestle terribly with anger toward God. Others have been held captive by a critical and judgmental heart. Doubt. Discouragement. Loneliness. Health issues. Depression. Addiction. God tells us as the church, a group of believers who are filled with the Holy Spirit, that we have the responsibility to proclaim freedom for the captive and release from darkness the prisoners.

"The Spirit of the Lord is on me. He has anointed me to tell the good news to poor people. He has sent me to announce freedom for prisoners. He has sent me so that the blind will see again. He wants me to free those who are beaten down."

--Luke 4:18 (NIRV)

Develop Disciples of Jesus

What is a disciple? A disciple is defined as a learner, a pupil, one who comes to be taught. The relationship between the disciple and his or her teacher is not merely that of a student listening to a lecturer, or a passively interested listener. A disciple listens with attention and intention, drinking in every word of the teacher, marking every inflection of voice with an intense desire to apply what has been learned.

"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

-- John 13:34-35
