30th Anniversary Celebration Sunday

September 27th

We are excited to celebrate Still Waters 30th anniversary! Sunday, September 27 we’ll have one worship service at 10:00 a.m.,  We will not have Saturday worship that weekend, since we’ll all gather together Sunday at 10:00. We will have many awesome components in worship, that allow us to remember and honor the past, celebrate the present, and dream about the future! I’m excited for a video montage of remembrances (feel free to submit pictures!) as well as sharing a video greeting from our founding pastor, now Bishop Dan Schwerin! 

CELEBRATION LUNCHEON: Following worship on September 27, we will have a celebration lunch.  We’ll have a catered meal with great food from Jug’s Hitching Post!   Stay tuned for more details on the menu!  Thank you, Scrip!  Sign up on your Connection Card or online to reserve your lunch, complete with celebration cake and cookies!

LONGEST TABLE- Our anniversary celebration lunch will be an example of a cool concept we ran across called, “The Longest Table.”  The concept of a ‘Longest Table’ in one sense, is as old as time.  The idea of having a table where there is always room for one more person, always room to expand, is the ‘longest table’ concept.  This is a Still Waters core value, and so why not have some fun with this on our 30th!  We will literally (inside our building!) make a ‘longest table’.  This should be fun!  And the whole point is, the celebration is not just for us! Invite a family member, friend, neighbor, team, or class!  Be creative! We hope to make this an amazing celebration of all kinds of people, so that we might depict the mission of who we are. 

Be sure to sign up for the Celebration Luncheon/Longest Table via the connection card or online, so that we can plan for the right amount of food.  (If you’d like to contribute to the food fund, that would be awesome!  We want to be able to accommodate any and all guests who come with an amazing meal and caring presence.)

Thirty Acts of Service Celebrating Thirty Years

On our 30th anniversary, we want to not only celebrate the past and present,  but also to dream about the future.  What if we could dream of 30 Acts of Service as we go forth into our 30th year of ministry? We’re going to start a list now, which we will make available on September 27, of dozens of possible ways we can serve during our 30th year of ministry.  Marc Bartusek is putting together this list of 30 possible ways we can grow, serve, and make a difference in the world this year!  Email your ideas to Marc!  He’ll be compiling that and have it available at our celebration on the 27th!
