New Beginnings

Making and Sustaining Positive Change

A new year reminds us of new opportunities always before us. It's one thing to want to change, and another thing to sustain that change. This will not be about what you need to change - you likely already have a sense of what that might be. We'll talk about principles that will help us to take steps and sustain the hopes and dreams that bring real change in our lives. These will be Biblical principles on how to actually trun a desire to change into an outcome in your life.

Define the Essentials

January 12

Sometimes when we want to make changes or we want our 'best life' we think of more things to do, more commitments to make, and we keep adding to our schedule. What if we could, instead, make meaningful change by defining the essentials? We'll explore how to better balance life with some solid principles that will guide us.

Small Lead to Big

January 19

Sometimes we think that if we have a great big goal, we have to make great big changes. Ironically, the most far-reaching and dramatic changes start small. We'll discuss the principles to follow so that small changes can lead to lasting and dramatic results.

Making Space

January 26

We weren't meant to be so busy that we can barely breathe! Any yet, that is our culture! There seems to be an epidemic of busyness. Sometimes we're running on empty, stretched too thin. Even if we're retired, we tend to fill up our schedules and use up our time and energy. God didn't design us to use up everything we have every single second of every day. Creating space is the precursor to the spiritual depth that we'll discuss next week, in our final week.

Spiritual Habits

February 2

There are lots of great ways to make change. This final week we'll look at our faith life and those spiritual habits that provide a foundation for everything else. We talk a lot about study, prayer, small groups, giving, serving at Still Waters Church. What step can you take now toward healthy and greater connection with God and each other?
